Compatibility to Windows 7

These version are fully compatible to Windows 7.

Easy Feed Editor is generally compatible to Microsft Windows 7. But there usuallyis the problem that some setting files can't be stored properly.

As UAC changed compared to Windows Vista, Easy Feed Editor is no longer allowed to edit its own settings files.


Solution

There are three possible solutions.

  1. Install Easy Feed Editor in a different folder
  2. Run Easy Feed Editor as administrator
  3. Disable UAC

1st possibilty


We recommend the first possibility if you haven't installed Easy Feed Editor yet.
When the setup routine asks where you would like to save Easy Feed Editor simply type in (e.g) C:/programs2/Easy Feed Editor. Apart from the different location, you won't notice any difference compared to a program installed in the "normal" programs folder.

2nd possibilty


But if you alraedy installed it, you should use the second possibilty. :

Right click on Easy Feed Editor (Startmenu->All programs) and select properties.


Select Compatibility and check Run as administrator and click OK. Now, you'll be asked if you want to run Easy Feed Editor as administrator every time you launch it. Click Yes.

If you want to stop Easy Feed editor from running as administrator, uncheck the option you checked before.
But if you do that, some functions of Easy Feed Editor won't work at all (server manager, esttings menu) or not fully (HTML-export).
